Metroid: Fusion Suit Redesign by imDRUNKonTEA Metroid: Fusion Suit Redesign by imDRUNKonTEA

After being infected by the X Parasite, Samus Aran is rescued by the Galactic Federation, which successfully counters the parasite through their use of a Metroid-based vaccine. However, it was soon discovered that Samus’ suit was also infected by the X Parasite. While the Federation was successful in removing most of the suit for examination, several components were too integrated with Samus’ body to be separated safely.

The infection continued to spread throughout the parts of the suit still attached to Samus, mutating and growing to replace the components which had been removed. Because of the vaccine, Samus’ body was able to accept the changes without harm, and she soon found herself wearing what became known as the Fusion Suit.

Although comparatively lightly armored compared to her other suits, the Fusion Suit’s biomechanical nature allows for unprecedented mobility and regenerative properties. The lack of magnetized boots and thrusters means that Samus must rely on her grappling hook and the grips on her palm and soles to maneuver in a space environment. At the same time, the suit retains her signature arm cannon and morph ball abilities, while adding several features for close quarters combat.

Despite being incomplete, the Fusion Suit proved more than capable of handling Samus’ mission and ultimately defeating the Omega Metroid in orbit around SR388.

I always thought that the Metroid: Fusion suit looked funky compared to Samus' other suits, so I decided to redesign it to be more of an organic design to set it apart from the typical mechanical exoskeleton that she wears. Also used this as an opportunity to practice a character sheet style that I'd be happy with in case I want to do some future designs.

Lots of trial and error, but it was a fun project to work on. Hope you enjoy!

Simply stunning, it very much feels more organic that the traditional suit.

Thanks! Yeah I tried giving it that 'living' vibe :)
I always wondered if she will be more Metroid-like in a physical sense.  Especially her face.  Like her own helmet became her new face!  That would  be spectacular!Meow :3

Ooh that would be interesting! I don't see Nintendo doing it though (since she's such an iconic character) but it would definitely push the series in a new direction!
Well, they have to come up with SOME idea for a sequel after Fusion. How can you go beyond metroid DNA? Since they are the very reason this franchise exists. I think Nintendo is stumped because of that. That is why we have these prequels (which are fun) instead of post-fusion games. "sigh"
Creepy cool! I am confident that in the next part after Fusion, Samus will periodically so - Metroid monster. And that is what happened to her in the Fusion was the plan from the beginning to make her army of monsters mighty soldiers.
And I would not mind if the hair turned green due to genes.

Nice, kind of like a conspiracy theory twist to the whole plot.

Wonder when that next game will come out...
As I do remember it being mentioned that the suit had to be surgically removed...this is a pretty nice concept of what would've happened if they were unable to remove the pieces that they needed too.

This freaking SEX.
